What A Wonderful World – A Tribute to Louis Armstrong
Featuring Longineu Parsons
“As a featured guest star with the Palm Beach Pops for over 20 years, Longineu is an audience favorite and has commanded sold out performances each time he appeared with the orchestra. His skill, stage presence, unrivaled understanding and study of Louis Armstrong and vast knowledge of all genres of music and culture ensure a world-class performance each time he graces the stage.”
Jon Lappin – Executive Director, Palm Beach Pops Orchestra
Louis Armstrong is perhaps the most important figure in the history of American music and is certainly one of the most recognizable figures in the world. He wrote many jazz songs that have become standards, and won 11 Grammy Awards as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Longineu Parsons is one of the world’s finest trumpeters and when he interprets Louis, he goes far beyond what can be studied and learned. The way he touches the trumpet and growls his vocals is as though he is channeling the great master of American music.
In this spellbinding tribute concert, Longineu Parsons and his band will lovingly perform Louis Armstrong classics such as “Basin St. Blues,” “Hello Dolly,” and, of course, “What A Wonderful World.”
Longineu has electrified audiences with his Louis Armstrong tribute from Europe to South America to Carnegie Hall!
